The SideShift alternative we built after paying $300/mo for five seats

Sway9 exists because of a bill. We were running a UGC campaign on SideShift, paying $300 a month for five creator seats, and every creator we wanted to add made the maths worse. So we built the tool we actually wanted — and then opened it up.

TL;DR Sway9 is a UGC creator management platform with unlimited creators and no per-seat fees, automatic TikTok and Instagram view tracking, and pay-per-view spend maths built in. It is free to start. If per-seat pricing is capping how many creators you can afford to track, that is the specific problem it solves.

The problem with per-seat pricing for UGC

Per-seat pricing makes sense for software where each user is a colleague. It makes much less sense for creator programs, because the whole point of pay-per-view UGC is volume: you work with a lot of creators, most posts do modestly, and a few travel a long way. We measured this on our own program — the top 10% of posts drove 26% of all views. You cannot find those outliers if adding the eleventh creator costs extra.

That was our experience in mid-2026: five seats for $300 a month, and a roster we wanted to grow. Every decision about whether to try a new creator became a billing decision instead of a marketing one.

What we built instead

Sway9 holds the roster, the campaigns, the posts and the money in one place. You add a creator and the handles they post from; it fetches their posts and keeps views, likes and engagement current on its own. You set a rate — CPM per 1,000 views or flat per post — and it computes spend and effective CPM as the numbers move.

Where SideShift is the better fit

We would rather you pick the right tool than the one we made. SideShift is a mature, well-run product with a larger creator-side network than ours, and that network effect is real: if your priority is finding creators you don't already know, an established marketplace has more supply than a newer directory. It also has a longer track record and a support organisation behind it. If a small, fixed roster is all you need and the seat count fits, there is no reason to move.

Where Sway9 is the better fit

Sway9 is the better choice when the constraint is how many creators you can afford to track, when you want to tie creator activity to real product outcomes rather than stopping at views, or when you run several brands and want each in its own workspace without paying per workspace.

The product-analytics piece is the part we think is genuinely different. Connect Superwall or Mixpanel and the funnel goes past views into trials, subscribers and revenue, so you can see the whole path from a creator's post to a paying user instead of guessing at it.

What switching actually involves

  1. Create a workspace and name it after the brand. Free, no card.
  2. Add your creators and their handles. This is the only manual part, and it is one line per creator.
  3. Let the first sync run. Sway9 pulls each account's recent posts, so existing content appears without you entering it.
  4. Set the campaign rate — CPM, plus an optional base per post, a cap per post, and a minimum view count.
  5. Check the numbers against your old tool for a week before you cancel anything. We would do the same.

Historical posts that predate the accounts you connect will not appear retroactively beyond what the platform still lists publicly, so if you need a full archive, export it from your current tool first.

Is Sway9 a good SideShift alternative?

For the specific job of running an existing roster on pay-per-view without a seat ceiling: yes, and it is free to test in an afternoon. For creator discovery at scale, a bigger marketplace still has more supply. Those two things are not in conflict — plenty of brands source creators in one place and manage them in another.
